IDR is seeking a VoIP Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Longmont, Colorado. This role involves working within the telecommunications industry, focusing on VoIP and telephony network infrastructure. Position Overview for the VoIP Engineer:
- Support planning, implementation, and maintenance of VoIP and telephony network infrastructure
- Work with Metaswitch platforms to configure and support voice services and trunking environments
- Manage and troubleshoot SS7 trunking and voice signaling across carrier and enterprise networks
- Utilize a solid understanding of TDM technologies including DS0, DS1, DS3, and T1 in legacy and hybrid voice environments
- Configure and troubleshoot signaling protocols such as SIP, SS7, PRI, and CAS
Requirements for the VoIP Engineer:
- Metaswitch experience
- SS7 Trunking expertise
- 3+ years of experience in network planning, network implementations, or telephony with an emphasis in VoIP required
- Solid understanding of TDM (DS0 / DS1 / DS3 / T1 / etc.) and signaling protocols (SIP / SS7 / PRI / CAS)
- Experience with MGCP and H.248 protocols
