Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager - Payroll to oversee all aspects of payroll operations at Harmonia Holdings Group, LLC. The Senior Manager - Payroll will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, compliance with tax regulations and employment laws, and maintaining confidentiality of payroll information. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payroll systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards.
- Administer benefits programs, including deductions, contributions, and reconciliations.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, tax withholding, and direct deposit details.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including earnings summaries, tax filings, and year-end statements.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees, providing exceptional customer service and timely resolution.
- Process off-cycle payrolls as needed but not limited to; terminations, resignations, and final PTO pay out calculations.
- Ensure all payroll is processes comply with DCAA regulations and company policies related to government contracts.
- Support internal and external DCAA and other audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and reports as requested.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Finance, to ensure accurate employee data and seamless integration with payroll systems.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Be the primary point of contact for all acquisition payroll responsibilities to include payroll provider migration.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and controls and support payroll system enhancements, integrations and upgrades.
- Know how to navigate through multi-company FEIN payroll requirements.
- Have a knowledge of state and federal laws regarding DOL payroll requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5-7 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software (e.g., Paylocity, etc.) and proficiency in using payroll modules of ERP systems.
- In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and implement streamlined payroll procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to conduct thorough payroll audits and ensure precision in all payroll-related activities.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information with utmost professionalism.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Team-oriented mindset with demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience managing and developing a team.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
