IDR is seeking a DB2 Administrator to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Lake Mary, FL. This role is within a government agency supporting critical database operations and infrastructure. The position involves maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex database environments to ensure high availability and performance.
Position Overview for the DB2 Administrator :
- Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, and integrity
- Perform SQL tuning and optimize database performance
- Monitor and troubleshoot complex production database issues, providing root cause analysis
- Execute and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Support mainframe operations and develop automation scripts using Unix/Linux shell scripting
Requirements for the DB2 Administrator :
- 5+ years experience as a DB2 Database Administrator supporting production environments
- Strong experience with DB2 performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting
- Advanced experience supporting databases in AWS environments
- Advanced experience working in Red Hat Linux environments
- Advanced experience with Snowflake (architecture and operational support)
