IDR is seeking a Cloud Engineer I to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Brentwood, Tennessee. In this role, you’ll support and enhance a modern cloud infrastructure environment with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure, while also gaining exposure to AWS and GCP. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, and improving the reliability and security of cloud services in a fast-moving, growth-oriented organization.
Position Overview for the Cloud Engineer I:
- Provision, monitor, support, and decommission cloud services with primary emphasis on Microsoft Azure and exposure to AWS and GCP
- Troubleshoot cloud environment performance, connectivity, and security issues across multi-cloud workloads
- Support identity and access services including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), and assist with authentication/authorization-related initiatives
- Partner with infrastructure and technical services teams to implement new cloud technologies and improve operational processes
- Provide escalated support to end users and service desk technicians, including occasional after-hours support as needed
Requirements for the Cloud Engineer I:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or 3+ years of equivalent hands-on experience)
- Practical experience supporting Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, security, web apps, and related services), with working knowledge of AWS and/or GCP
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud performance, connectivity, and security, including familiarity with backup, restore, recovery, and high availability concepts
- Experience with core Microsoft infrastructure fundamentals (Active Directory/Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, Windows authentication concepts) and general networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing/subnetting)
- Proficiency with PowerShell and a willingness to work independently in a dynamic environment (including occasional night/weekend support)
